Product Description

You are bidding on a vintage full-size Zippo lighter in a brushed chrome finish, ca. 1970.  This is a Lossproof model, and features a lanyard for attaching the lighter to your belt or belt loop, so it will not fall overboard if it accidentally slips out of your hands.  This lighter features three-color graphics depicting the symbol of the research vessel R.V. Chain (formerly the USS Chain, a WW2 rescue and salvage ship).  On the back of the lighter is the logo of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, where the R.V. Chain was based.  The R.V. Chain was scrapped in 1979.  The lighter is in excellent, near-mint condition, showing signs of occasional handling.  The chrome and paint are 100% intact.  This is a great crossover collectible of interest to both lighter collectors and maritime collectors.  Needs only flint and fluid to work.  You can own this great vintage Zippo advertising lighter for $129.99.
