Offered for sale is a vintage Bulova Accutron Accuquartz Navigator Mark III deck watch or marine chronometer, made in USA, ca. 1973. This watch features a wooden box with a plastic laminate woodgrain finish, a model #224-2 hybrid tuning-fork/quartz movement in a heavy brass casing, and a white dial with day and date display. The box has brass handles on the outside and a removable acrylic inner cover. The box and inner brass casing are in excellent condition. The movement runs and keeps excellent time. The dial is in excellent original condition. The outer box measures 4-3/4″ high x 4-3/4″ wide x 4-3/4″deep. The dial of the watch is 2″ diameter. This watch was made during the time when quartz watches were just starting to come onto the market and were very expensive. This watch probably cost well over $1000.00 when new in 1973 (adjusted for inflation, that is equivalent to over $5000.00 today).
