Offered for sale is a vintage Case XX 523-5 SSP fixed-blade hunting knife, made in USA, ca. 1979. This knife was issued to commemorate the Bradford, Pennsylvania centennial of 1979. This knife features a stainless steel raised-point blade, a nickel silver hilt, an aluminum pommel, and stag handle scales. Blade length is 5″. Overall length is 9-1/4″. The blade is 3/32″ thick at the hilt. The blade is tang stamped Case XX USA, 523-5 SSP. Engraved lengthwise on the blade is “1879 Bradford Centennial 1979.” The knife is in excellent condition overall, showing signs of light carry. The blade appears to be unsharpened. Included with the knife is a Case XX leather sheath. This knife is very well made, and will provide many more years of service with proper care.
