You are bidding on an antique Elgin B.W. Raymond (USA) open-faced railroad-approved pocket watch, probably ca. 1927. This is a 16-size watch, and measures approximately 51mm (2″) diameter. This watch features a genuine Elgin yellow gold filled screw-back-and-bezel case with a rigid bow, a 21-jewel adjusted stem-wind lever-set movement, an up-down indicator, and a porcelain dial with blue steel hands. The up-down indicator refers to the secondary dial at the 12 o’clock position that serves as a power reserve indicator which shows the hours of operation remaining before it’s necessary to wind the watch once more. The case is in excellent condition, showing signs of occasional pocket carry, and no visible brassing. The dial is in very good condition, showing a few minor hairlines and some very minor chipping on the edge near the 6 and 7 o’clock positions. The movement runs and keeps excellent time. Overall, a very presentable watch that is ready to carry with pride. This is an excellent crossover collectible of interest to both watch collectors and railroad buffs. You can own this very high grade, highly collectible American-made railroad pocket watch, for $1299.99.
