Offered for sale is a vintage Elgin wrist watch of the Art Deco period, probably ca. 1930s. This watch features a Deco style rectangular case, a 17-jewel manual-wind movement, and a two-tone silver matte dial. Though the case is marked “base metal,” I believe it to be stainless steel (I have seen many stainless steel watch cases marked base metal). The case is in excellent condition overall, showing signs of occasional wear. The movement is in excellent running order. The dial is in good original condition showing a patina appropriate for its age. Overall, a very presentable watch that is ready to wear in style or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces. Size: 20mm wide x 40mm lug-to-lug. Fitted with a leather strap. You can own this high grade, attractive American made wrist watch, from a time when watches really had style, for $249.99.
