Offered for sale is a Gerber Applegate/Fairbairn Combat Folder folding linerlock knife, made in USA probably ca. 1990s. This knife is a modern-day adaptation of the famed Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife of the World War Two era, and was designed for Gerber by Rex Applegate, a noted expert on close-quarters combat. This knife features a stainless steel spear point blade with a combination straight/serrated edge, a blade locking device, and a black glass-filled nylon composite handle. The thumb stud on the blade facilitates one-handed opening with either hand. Length closed is 5-3/4″. Length open is 10″. The blade is tang stamped Gerber USA Combat Folder, and the blade is etched with the names Rex Applegate and W. C. Fairbairn. The knife is in excellent condition overall, showing signs of light carry. The blade appears to be unsharpened. Included with the knife is its original black nylon sheath. This knife is very well made, and will provide many more years of service with proper care. You can own this very high quality vintage fighting knife for $129.99.
