Offered for sale is a vintage Gruen wrist watch of the Art Deco period, ca. 1930. This watch features a gold filled Deco style case with a fancy stepped-side design, a 15-jewel manual wind movement, and a silver matte dial with gold numerals. The case is in excellent condition overall, showing very minor wear-through of the gold finish in a few spots (not noticeable unless you look very closely). There is some fancy engraving on the caseback indicating that the watch was presented as a service award to a police officer in Jackson, Michigan in 1930. The movement is in excellent running order. The dial has been expertly refinished to look as it did the day it left the Gruen factory. I recently fitted a new glass crystal. Overall, a very presentable watch that is ready to wear in style or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces. Size: 25mm wide x 36mm lug-to-lug. Signed case, dial, and movement. Fitted with a leather strap. This is a great crossover collectible of interest to both watch collectors and police memorabilia collectors. You can own this very high grade, attractive, highly collectible wrist watch of the Art Deco period, for only $299.99/obo.
