Offered for sale is an antique Hamilton #992B (USA) U.S. Army issue open-faced railroad pocket watch #OE-55, probably ca. 1940s. This is a 16-size watch, and measures approximately 50mm (2″) diameter. This watch features a chromium plated screw back and bezel case, a 21-jewel adjusted stem-wind lever-set movement, and a single-sunk Montgomery style porcelain dial with Arabic numerals. The movement is marked U.S. Army. This is less common than the U.S. Govt. marking found on most of the military-issued railroad watches. The case is in excellent condition, showing signs of occasional pocket carry. The dial is in excellent condition. The movement runs and keeps excellent time. Overall, a very presentable watch that is ready to carry with pride or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces. This is a great crossover collectible of interest to watch collectors, military buffs, and railroad buffs as well. You can own this very high grade, super clean American-made pocket watch, for $699.99.
