Offered for sale is a vintage Khyber model 2650 fixed-blade hunting knife, made in Japan, probably ca. 1970s. Khyber Knives was a division of Cole Consumer Products of Cleveland, Ohio in the 1970s, as was Ka-Bar knives also. This knife was based on a design by the legendary knifemaker Bob Loveless. This knife features a stainless steel drop-point blade, a brass single hilt, full tang construction, and brown micarta handle scales held to the tang with two brass and nickel-silver bulls-eye rivets. Blade length is 4″. Overall length is 8-1/4″. The blade is 1/8″ thick at the hilt. The blade is tang stamped Khyber Stainless 2650 Japan. The knife is in excellent condition overall, showing signs of very light use and carry, if any. The blade appears to be at least 99% intact. Included with the knife is its original box and sheath. The box is slightly faded. This knife is very well made, and will provide many more years of service with proper care. Or, it would be right at home in a collection of vintage fixed-blade knives.
