Offered for sale is a vintage LeCoultre Futurematic wrist watch, Swiss-made, probably ca. 1950s. This watch features a 10k yellow gold filled case, a 17-jewel calibre 497 automatic movement, and a two toned silver matte dial with gold applied non-numeric hour markers, a subsidiary seconds hand at the 3 o’clock position and a power reserve indicator at the 9 o’clock position. This piece is unusual due to the fact that there is no crown on the side. This watch cannot be manually wound, there is a setting wheel on the back of the case marked “Slide-Do not Lift.” When you slide the wheel towards the center and turn it, a wheel on the inside caseback turns to set the time. The case itself is in excellent condition, showing signs of occasional wear. The movement runs and keeps excellent time. The dial is in excellent original condition, showing a slight patina. Overall, a presentable watch that is ready to wear in style or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces. This watch measures 35mm diameter. Signed case, dial, and movement. Fitted with a leather strap. You can own this very high grade, attractive, ready-to-wear vintage watch from a highly regarded maker, for $899.99.
