You are bidding on a vintage Lord Elgin Aquamaster wrist watch, Swiss-made for the Elgin watch Co, circa mid-1960s. This watch features a solid stainless steel screwback case, a recessed crown, a 25-jewel automatic movement, and a grey dial with applied hour markers. The case is in excellent condition, showing signs of occasional wear. The movement runs and keeps excellent time. The dial is in excellent original condition. Overall, a very presentable watch that is ready to wear in style or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces. This watch measures 35mm diameter (without crown). Fitted with a new leather strap. Elgin has a long history of producing watches in the USA that spanned from 1864 to 1968. (Since Elgin ceased operations in 1970, the Elgin brand name has been bought and sold several times, and any Elgin-branded watch produced after 1970 has no connection to the original Elgin Watch Company). I believe that many of the Lord Elgin watches produced during the 1950s and 1960s were some of the best watches of their time, and are underappreciated by collectors. You can own this very high grade, attractive, ready-to-wear vintage watch from a company that was once the largest watch manufacturer in the United states, for $299.99/obo. NOTE: I do not guarantee water resistance in any antique, vintage, or pre-owned watch I sell, regardless of its manufacturer’s original water resistance rating, and I do not recommend taking any antique, vintage, or pre-owned watch in water to begin with.
