You are bidding on a vintage Lord Oxford aluminum lighter, made in USA by Oxford-Pyke, Inc, ca. mid 1940s. Oxford-Pyke was a manufacturer of aircraft parts based in Michigan, and they had a showroom in New York City. Aluminum block lighters like this one were prevalent in the post-WW2 period (mid 1940s-early 1950s). At that time there was a surplus of aluminum on the market that was produced during the war, and manufacturers were finding innovative ways to use it. This lighter is of solid aluminum block construction, and is a semi-automatic type (when you push the button on the side, the lid springs open and lights the flame). The lighter is in very good used condition, showing signs of occasional pocket carry. Included with this lighter is its original storage pouch and papers. Needs only flint and fluid to work. You can own this great vintage lighter for $99.99.
