Offered for sale is a vintage purse watch of the Art Deco period, Swiss-made, probably ca. 1930s. The movement is signed Normis Watch Co, and I could not find any other makers’ marks. This watch features a solid sterling silver case wrapped in brown leather, a Swiss 17-jewel manual-wind movement, and a silver dial with Arabic numerals. On the front of the case is a silver cartouche with a blue enamel border, and there is a fancy blue enamel pattern on the four spandrels surrounding the dial. To open the watch, one holds the watch in ones right hand and presses the top sideways with ones thumb to release the catch. The watch will then slide out through the top. To close, slide the watch back inside. Size: 43mm x 32mm x 11.4mm closed; and 73mm x 32mm x 11.4mm open. The case is in excellent condition, showing signs of occasional pocket carry. The dial is in excellent condition. The movement runs and keeps good time. Overall, a very presentable watch that is ready to carry with pride or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces. You can own this high grade, unusual vintage purse watch, for $299.99. If you have questions about this watch or about my watch and clock repair services, please feel free to contact me.
