Product Description

Offered for sale is a vintage W. Bingham Co. single blade folding lockback Knife, made in USA ca. 1900.  W. Bingham Co. was a hardware wholesaler based in Cleveland, Ohio, and was in business from 1888 to 1961.  At one time they were an agent for Ulster Knives, so this knife could possibly have been made for Bingham by Ulster, a very highly regarded American knife manufacturer.  This knife features a Carbon steel clip-point blade, a blade locking device, nickel silver bolsters, brass liners, a nickel silver shield on the handle, and jigged bone handle scales.  Length closed is 4-1/2″.  The blade is tang stamped W. Bingham Co. Cleveland O.  The knife is in very good condition overall, especially for its age and shows signs of occasional use and carry.  The blade appears to be at least 95% intact and shows signs of minor pitting in a few spots, as well as evidence of improper sharpening methods over the years.  The blade locks up tight with no discernible wobble.  The handle scales are excellent, showing no cracks or chips.  This knife is very well made, and will provide many more years of service with proper care.  Or, it would be right at home in a collection of American fixed blade knives.  You can own this very high quality vintage pocket knife for $99.99
