Offered for sale is a Aurora Watch Co pocket watch, made in Aurora, Illinois USA, circa 1886. The Aurora Watch Co was founded in 1883, and was purchased by the Hamilton Watch Co in 1890. This is a size 18 watch, and measures 55mm (2-1/8″). This watch features a genuine Illinois Watch Case Company nickel silver screw back and bezel case with a rose gold overlay of a steam locomotive on the back, a stem-wind lever-set 15 jewel movement, and comes with a single-sunk white dial with black roman numerals, and blue steel spade hands. The dial is in excellent condition. The movement runs and keeps very good time. The screw-back-and-bezel case is in good condition, showing signs of normal pocket carry. Signed movement and dial.
