Elgin 16s 17j US Military Issue Pocket Watch, Nickel Case, ca 1944

Offered for sale is an vintage Elgin USA-made U.S. military issue open faced pocket watch, circa 1944.  This is a 16-size watch, and measures approximately 50mm diameter.  This watch features a nickel silver hinged back and snap bezel case, a 17 jewel stem-wind stem-set movement, and a white single sunk porcelain dial with luminous hour markers and steel spade hands.  The caseback is marked “ORD. DEPT. USA No. OB-22369” (note: the markings on the caseback are hard to read and do not show up well in the photographs).  The case is in good condition, showing signs of normal pocket carry.   The movement runs and keeps excellent time.  The dial is in excellent condition.
