Description
Offered for sale is an antique Hampden Watch Co. North American Railway pocket watch, made in Canton, Ohio USA circa 1906. This is an 18-size watch, and measures approximately 54mm (2-1/8″) diameter. This watch features a genuine Dueber Hampden nickel silver hinged-back-and-bezel salesman’s display case, a 21-jewel stem wind and lever set North American Railway grade movement, and comes with a white dial with black Arabic numerals and blue steel spade hands. The salesman’s display case does not have a bow because it was not designed to be carried. Instead, it was designed for watch and jewelry salespersons to demonstrate watch movements to their clients. The case is in very good condition, showing signs of normal handling. The dial is in excellent condition, showing a few very minor hairline cracks near the 10 and 12 o’clock positions (not noticeable unless you look closely). The movement runs and keeps excellent time. You can own this antique American-made pocket watch with a hard-to-find salesman’s display case, for $499.99/obo.
