Description
Offered for sale is an antique Illinois Sangamo Special open-faced railroad grade pocket watch, probably ca. 1920. This is a 17-size watch, and measures approximately 50mm (2″) diameter. This watch features a genuine Sangamo Special (by Wadsworth) 14k yellow gold filled screw back/hinged bezel case, a 23-jewel adjusted stem-wind lever-set Sangamo Special railroad grade movement, and a single-sunk porcelain dial with black Arabic numerals and blue steel hands. The case is in excellent condition, showing signs of normal pocket carry and no visible brassing except for light brassing on the underside of the bow. The dial is in excellent condition except for some minor chipping on the edge near the 1 and 2 o’clock positions (noticeable only when the bezel is open). The movement runs and keeps excellent time. Overall, a very presentable watch that is ready to carry with pride. You can own this very high grade, American-made pocket watch, for $1299.99/obo.
