Offered for sale is an antique Longines Express Monarch open-faced railroad pocket watch, Swiss made for Canadian railroad service, probably circa early 20th century. This watch was retailed by Richard Hemsley Jewelers of Montreal, Canada. This is a 16-size watch, and measures approximately 51mm (2″) diameter. This watch features a sterling silver screw back and bezel case with a fancy embossed design on the back, a 21-jewel adjusted stem-wind lever-set movement, and a single-sunk porcelain dial with Arabic numerals. The case is in excellent condition, showing signs of occasional pocket carry. The dial is in good condition, showing some minor hairlines and minor chips on the edge near the setting lever and the 3 o’clock position (the chips are not noticeable unless you remove the bezel). The movement runs and keeps excellent time. Overall, a presentable watch that is ready to carry with pride or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces. You can own this very high grade, private-label Swiss-made railroad pocket watch, for $599.99/obo.
