You are bidding on an antique Movado “Ermeto” Purse watch, probably ca. 1920s. This watch features a base metal case, and a manual wind movement (the movement gets wound when the case slides opened and closed), and a silver dial with luminous Arabic numerals (the luminous material no longer glows). This watch can also be wound manually if preferred. The case is in good condition, showing signs of normal pocket carry and noticeable wear on the edges and ends. I believe that this watch was covered in leather at one point, and has since worn off. The dial is in good original condition, with a minor blemish on the edge of the dial between the 3 o’clock and 4 o’clock positions. The movement runs and keeps time, however I would recommend a cleaning, oiling, and adjusting for optimum performance. This piece measures approximately 2″ long closed with a width of 1-3/8″ and is approximately 3″ long when fully opened. When the watch is opened, there is a retractable stand for setting the watch upright on a night table. You can own this highly collectible Swiss-made purse watch, from a time when Movado watches were regarded as some of the finest made, for $349.99.
