Offered for sale is a custom Ralph Smith fixed-blade hunting knife, hand-made in Taylor, South Carolina USA, probably circa 2000. Ralph Smith started making knives in the early 1970s, and was admitted to the Knifemakers Guild in 1981. He is also a founding member and past president of the South Carolina Association of Knifemakers. This knife is based on a design by the legendary knifemaker Bob Loveless. This knife features a stainless steel hollow-ground drop point blade, a stainless steel hilt, full tapered tang construction, and stag handle scales with red spacers. The blade is 4-1/4″ long and almost 3/16″ thick at the hilt. Overall length is 9″. The blade is tang stamped “Smith Handcrafted Knives” inside the South Carolina map outline. The knife is in excellent, like-new condition overall. The blade appears to be unsharpened. The handle is in excellent condition. The fit and finish is superb. The knife includes a custom right handed leather sheath. This knife is very well made, and will provide many years of service with proper care.
