Offered for sale is a vintage Gerber folding lockback hunting knife, made in Portland, Oregon USA circa 1960s. This is one of the earliest folding hunting knives that Gerber made, and is currently sought after by collectors. This knife features a stainless steel straight backed blade, finger grooves for better grip, and textured ergonomic wood handle scales. The handle was designed for a comfortable grip in either hand, that would not slip out of your hand even when wet. The blade is 3-3/4″ long and 1/16″ thick at the hilt. Overall length open 8-3/4″. Length closed is 5-1/8″. The blade is tang stamped ” Gerber Patent No 3,568,315,” on the front side and “Portland, ORE 97223, USA” on the other side. The knife is in excellent condition, showing signs of occasional use and carry. The blade appears to be at least 99% intact and locks up tight. The handle scales are in excellent condition. There is no sheath with this knife, but there are many nice custom sheaths available on eBay. This knife is very well made, and will provide many more years of service with proper care.
