Vintage Schrade Walden 2-Blade Equal End Pen Knife Adv. Knox Woolen Co, ca 1940s




Offered for sale is a vintage Schrade Walden equal end pen knife, made in Walden, New York, USA probably ca. 1940s.  This knife features two carbon steel blades, and aluminum handle scales.  The aluminum handle scales feature decorative flowers on both sides and ends.  One side is engraved with advertising for “Knox Woolen Company of Camden, Maine” and the flip side is engraved with “Papermakers Felts & Jackets.”  Knox Woolen Co. started around the time of the Civil War and manufactured woolen felts used in the production of paper and paper products.  In February of 1982, they sold the business to the Mt. Vernon Company of South Carolina.  Length closed is approximately 3-1/2″.  The blade is tang stamped Schrade Walden NY USA.  Both blades appear to be at least 95% intact and show some minor pitting throughout along with some small nicks on the blade edges.  Both blades “walk and talk.”  This knife is very well made and will provide many more years of service with proper care.  Or, it would be right at home in a collection of American pocket knives.  You can own this very high quality vintage pocket knife for $49.99.
