Description
Offered for sale is a vintage Hamilton “Barton” wrist watch, ca. late 1940s or 1950s. This watch features a solid 14k yellow gold Deco style rectangular case, a 19-jewel calibre #982 Medallion manual wind movement, and a two-tone silver matte dial with gold applied hour markers. The case is in very good condition overall, showing signs of occasional wear. It appears that there was once some personal engraving on the back that has been buffed out, and there are some rough spots on the caseback where the buffing was done (see photograph). The movement is in excellent running order. The dial is in very good original condition, and shows a patina appropriate for its age. Overall, a presentable watch that is ready to wear in style or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces. Size: 23mm wide x 40mm lug-to-lug. Signed case, dial, and movement. Fitted with a leather strap. This model was one of the more popular Hamilton models of its day, and is highly desirable among Hamilton watch collectors today. You can own this high grade, attractive, highly collectible American-made wrist watch, for only $599.99.
