Wakmann Vintage Stainless Steel Art Deco Wrist Watch, Early Waterproof Design

Description

Offered for sale is a vintage Wakmann wrist watch of the Art Deco period, probably ca. 1930s.  This watch features a solid stainless steel Deco style rectangular case of an early waterproof “clamshell” design, a 15-jewel manual wind movement, and a two-tone silver matte dial with luminous hands and hour markers (note: the luminous material no longer glows).  The case is in very good condition overall, showing signs of occasional wear.  The movement is in excellent running order.  The dial is in good original condition, showing a “tropical” patina appropriate for its age.  Overall, a presentable watch that is ready to wear in style.  Size: 23mm wide x 35mm lug-to-lug.  Signed case, dial, and movement.  Fitted with a leather strap.  You can own this high grade, attractive, highly collectible Swiss-made wrist watch, starting at $199.99.  If you have questions about this watch or about my watch and clock repair services, please feel free to contact me.
