Elgin 18s 7j Grade 96 Model 4 Gold Filled Hunting Case Pocket Watch

Offered for sale is an antique Elgin National Watch Co. pocket watch, made in USA ca. 1897.  This is a 18-size watch, and measures approximately 55mm (2/-1/4″) diameter.  This watch features a Victory yellow gold filled hunting case with a fancy embossed floral pattern on the front and back and a blank cartouche on the front, a 7-jewel stem-wind and lever-set movement, and a white porcelain dial with black roman numerals and blue steel spade hands.  The case is in good condition, showing signs of normal pocket carry and some light brassing.  The dial is in excellent condition, showing no visible cracks or chips other than a very minor chip at the center hole (noticeable only if you look very closely).   The movement runs but I would recommend a complete cleaning, oiling, and adjusting for optimum performance.  You can own this antique American-made pocket watch, for $249.99/obo.  If you have questions about this watch or about my watch and clock repair services, please feel free to contact me.
