Description
Offered for sale is a vintage full-size Zippo lighter in a polished chrome finish, ca. 1957 ( …. Zippo …. ). The lighter features an image of the USS Everglades AD-24 US Navy ship painted onto the lighter in Zippo’s “Town & Country” fashion. Zippo’s Town & Country series lighters first came out in 1947 and were made through the 1950s, and feature graphics that were hand-painted with enamel paint and oven-baked for durability. The USS Everglades was a Klondike class destroyer built at the end of WWII. The lighter is in good condition overall, showing signs of normal use and carry. The chrome is 100% intact and the paint is 60% intact. This is a great crossover collectable piece to both lighter enthusiasts and military buffs. Although Zippo made many military ship lighters, very few of them were made with the Town and Country graphics. Needs only flint and fluid to work. If the paint on this lighter were perfect, it would be easily worth upwards of $300.00. But since the paint is not perfect, I am selling it for only $99.99.
