Description
Offered for sale is an antique Hamilton (USA) open faced pocket watch, circa 1926. This is a 12-size watch, and measures approximately 1-3/4″ (44mm) diameter. This watch features a genuine Hamilton solid 14k yellow gold case with a small monogram on the caseback. The watch also features a 23-jewel stem-wind stem-set 922 grade movement, and a silver satin dial with gold letters and subsidiary seconds hand at the 6 o’clock position. This dial was customized at the Hamilton factory. Instead of numerals, the dial has letters that spell the name Frank Hopper. The entire watch weighs 60 grams (1.93 troy ounces). The case is in very good condition, showing signs of normal pocket carry. There is a high quality personal engraving of “Presented to W. Frank L Hopper, As a token of love and esteem for services rendered as Master 1925 by Alma Lodge No 728, F & A.M., January 14, 1927” on the inner cuvette. The movement is in excellent running order. I serviced the movement in November 2024. The dial is in very good original condition. Included with the watch is its original box and paper. The serial numbers on the watch match the serial numbers on the paperwork. Overall, a very presentable watch that is ready to carry with pride or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces. If you are in the market for a fine gold American pocket watch, they do not come much cleaner than this one. This is a great crossover collectable piece of interest to both watch collectors and Masonic collectors. When this watch was new in 1926, it sold for $160.00. Adjusted for inflation, that is equivalent to over $2,900.00 today. You can own this high quality, American-made antique solid gold pocket watch, for $1599.99/obo.
