Vintage Abercrombie & Fitch Shipmate Stainless Steel Manual Wind Wrist Watch

Offered for sale is a vintage Abercrombie & Fitch Shipmate wrist watch, Swiss-made, probably circa 1940s.  Abercrombie & Fitch has been in business since 1892.  They started as an outdoor specialty retailer, carrying camping, fishing and hunting gear. During the 1940s, they also made uniforms for all branches of the military.  Today, they sell retail men’s, women’s and kid’s clothing.  This watch features a solid stainless steel screwback case, a manual wind movement, and a silver matte dial with a subsidiary seconds hand at the 6 o’clock position.  The case is in very good condition, showing signs of normal wear.  The movement runs and keeps excellent time.  I serviced the movement in May 2025.  The dial is in good original condition, showing a patina appropriate for its age.  Overall, a very presentable watch that is ready to wear in style or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces.  This is a mid-sized watch, and measures 30mm diameter.  Fitted with a black two-piece strap.  Vintage Abercrombie & Fitch watches from the 1940s and 1950s have become highly collectible in  recent years, and certain models have been known to sell for thousands of dollars.  You can own this high grade, attractive, ready-to-wear wrist watch, for $399.99.  If you have questions about this watch or about my watch and clock repair services, please feel free to contact me.
