Offered for sale is an antique Waltham Vanguard (USA) Model 1908 open-faced railroad grade pocket watch, circa 1953. This is a 16-size watch, and measures approximately 50.5mm (2″) diameter. This watch was made for both Canadian and American railroad service, as the dial has a 13-24 hour inner time track. This watch features a Star 10K yellow gold filled screw-back-and-bezel case, a 23-jewel adjusted stem-wind lever-set movement, and a single-sunk painted metal dial with Arabic numerals and black steel spade hands. The case is in excellent condition, showing signs of normal pocket carry and no visible brassing. The dial is in excellent condition. The movement runs and keeps excellent time.
