Description
Offered for sale is a vintage Benrus wrist watch, Swiss-made, circa 1950s. Although this watch came out around two decades later than the Art Deco period, it is a fine example of the Art Deco style. This watch features a solid yellow gold Art Deco style rectangular case with hooded lugs, a 17-jewel calibre AX11 manual wind movement, and a silver matte dial with gold applied non-numeric hour markers. The case is in excellent condition overall, showing signs of occasional wear. There is some light personal engraving on the back indicating that this watch was presented to an employee of Combier-Chauvin & Associates for 32 years of service. The movement is in excellent running order. The dial appears to be an older refinish of very good quality, and shows a very slight patina. Overall, a presentable watch that is ready to wear in style or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces. Size: 24mm wide x 34mm lug-to-lug. The case without the movement weighs 0.5 troy ounce. Signed case, dial, and movement. Fitted with a leather strap. If you like Art Deco timepieces, you will certainly enjoy this one that exemplifies the Art Deco style. You can own this very high grade, attractive, Swiss-made wrist watch that contains a half ounce of 14K gold, for only $899.99.
