Offered for sale is a custom fixed-blade hunting knife, hand-made in Tampa, Florida, USA by Bill King Sr. Bill King started making knives in 1976, and was mentored by noted knifemakers Mel Pardue and Frank Centofante. King was a charter member of the Florida Knifemakers Association and the local Gator Knife Club, and was a Knifemakers Guild member. Before Bill King Sr. passed away in 2021, he taught his son Bill King Jr. the knifemaking craft, and Bill King Jr. makes custom knives today. This knife features an ATS-34 stainless steel drop-point blade, full tang construction, two finger grooves on the handle scales along with thumb notches on the top edge of the blade to help with grip, a nickel silver hilt, a lanyard hole, and black micarta handle scales which are secured to the tang with two nickel silver rivets. The handle scales are dovetailed into the hilt, and there is fancy filework along the entire spine of the blade. The blade is 3-3/4″ long and 1/8″ thick at the hilt. Overall length is 8-1/4″. The blade is tang stamped “King” on one side, and ATS-34 on the other side. The knife is in excellent, near-mint condition, showing signs of occasional handling. The blade appears to be 100% intact. The handle scales are in excellent condition, with no visible cracks or chips. The fit and finish is superb. The knife includes a high quality custom leather sheath.
