Offered for sale is an antique Elgin (USA) open-faced pocket watch, probably ca. 1918. This is a 16-size watch, and measures approximately 50mm (2″) diameter. This watch features a “mainliner” gold-filled screw back and bezel case with a fancy engine-turned pattern on the back, a 17-jewel adjusted stem-wind lever-set movement, and a double-sunk porcelain dial with Arabic numerals. The case is in excellent condition, showing very little, if any, evidence of pocket carry and no visible brassing. The dial is in excellent condition, showing no visible cracks or chips. The movement runs and keeps excellent time. The bow is tight. Overall, a presentable watch that is ready to carry with pride or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates fine timepieces.
