Description
Offered for sale is an vintage Elgin grade 387 open-faced U.S. military issue pocket watch, made in USA ca. 1941 (World War 2 era). This is an 16-size watch, and measures approximately 52mm (2-1/8″) diameter. This watch features an Illinois Watch Case Co nickel hinged back and snap bezel case, a 17-jewel Grade 387 stem-wind stem-set movement, and comes with a white single sunk dial with Arabic numerals and blue steel spade hands. The case is in excellent condition, showing signs of normal pocket carry. The caseback once had military markings, but it appears that they have been buffed out (some of them are still faintly visible under magnification). The Montgomery dial is in excellent condition, showing a few minor hairlines (not noticeable unless you look closely). The movement runs and keeps excellent time. Overall, a very presentable watch that is ready to carry with pride. You can own this high grade, collectible, antique American-made pocket watch, for $299.99/obo.
