Description
Offered for sale is a vintage Gerrard Perregaux gyromatic wrist watch, Swiss made, probably ca. 1970s. This watch features a 10k yellow gold filled round case, a 17-jewel automatic movement, and a silver satin dial with gold non-numeric hour markers and a date display at the 3 o’clock position. The dial displays the logo of the South Carolina National Bank. This watch was a service award to an employee of the South Carolina National Bank and displays their emblem on the dial. The South Carolina National Bank was founded in 1817 as the Office of Discount and Deposit of the second bank of the United States. This bank provided international banking services which helped the transfer of rice and cotton to European markets. South Carolina National Bank was acquired by Wachovia in 1991. The case is in excellent condition overall, showing signs of occasional wear. There is some light personal engraving on the caseback. Though the engraving has a date of 1980, I believe the watch is several years older than this. The movement runs and keeps excellent time. The dial is in excellent original condition. This watch measures 35mm diameter (without crown). You can own this high grade, attractive, ready to wear vintage wrist watch, for $399.99.
