Description
Offered for sale is an antique Hamilton 992b open-faced railroad pocket watch, made in USA probably circa 1942. This is a 16-size watch, and measures approximately 50.5mm (2″) diameter. This watch features a Hamilton Model #5 (by Wadsworth) 10k yellow gold-filled bar-over-crown screw back and bezel case, a 21-jewel adjusted stem-wind lever-set Railroad Grade 992b movement marked US GOVT, and a single-sunk porcelain Montgomery dial with Arabic numerals and blue steel spade hands. The case is in fair condition, showing signs of normal pocket carry and a large area of brassing on the caseback. NOTE: The US Government issue movements usually came in a chromium plated base metal case with military markings on the back, so the movement has likely been recased. The Montgomery dial is in excellent original condition. The movement runs and keeps excellent time. You can own this very high grade, American-made railroad pocket watch, for $549.99.
