Description
Offered for sale is a vintage Illinois military wrist watch of the World War One period, made in USA circa 1918. This watch features a sterling silver cushion style case with fixed wire lugs and a built-in shrapnel guard over the crystal, a 15-jewel manual-wind movement, and a silver matte dial with a subsidiary seconds hand at the 6 o’clock position. The Fahy’s case is in very good condition overall, showing signs of normal wear. The crystal is original, and shows radium burns on the inside. The movement runs, but needs cleaning, oiling and adjusting. The dial appears to be in fair original condition, showing a patina appropriate for its age. The minute hand is missing. Size: 30mm wide x 38mm lug-to-lug. Fitted with a vintage metal sliding clasp bracelet (possibly original to the watch). You can own this high grade, attractive American made military wrist watch with lots of potential, for $699.99.
