Lord Elgin Vintage 14K Yellow Gold Wrist Watch

Offered for sale is a vintage Lord Elgin wrist watch, ca. late 1940s or early 1950s.  This watch features a solid 14k yellow gold snap back square case, a 21-jewel caliber 626 manual wind movement, and a silver matte dial with gold applied hour markers and a subsidiary seconds hand at the 6 o’clock position.  The case is in very good condition overall, showing signs of occasional wear.  The movement is in excellent running order.  The dial appears to be in good original condition and shows some minor discoloration in a few spots.  Overall, a presentable watch that is ready to wear in style.  Size: 23mm wide x 34mm lug-to-lug.  Signed case, dial, and movement.  Fitted with a black leather strap.  I believe the Lord Elgin watches of the mid-20th century were some of the best watches made in America, and are very much underappreciated by collectors today.  You can own this high grade, attractive, highly collectible American-made wrist watch, for only $699.99/obo.  If you have questions about this watch or about my watch and clock repair services, please feel free to contact me.
