Vintage Ricoh Expo ’70 Osaka, Japan Worlds Fair Commemorative Pendant/Wrist Watch

Offered for sale is a vintage Ricoh Expo ’70 Osaka, Japan Worlds Fair Pendant/Wrist Watch, ca. 1970.  This watch was to commemorate Asia’s first world’s fair in order to reflect Japan’s growing culture after WWII.  The watch shape symbolizes Japan’s National flower, the cherry blossom which is also the logo for the Expo ’70.  This watch features a pentagon shaped gold and pink case, a 17-jewel manual-wind movement, and a gold dial with non-numeric hour markers.  The case is in excellent condition, showing signs of occasional wear. The shape of the engravings on the face are also engraved on the caseback.  This piece was made as a wrist watch but has been made to be currently worn as a necklace pendant watch.  However, it can be changed back into a wrist watch with minimal effort.   The movement runs and keeps excellent time.  The dial is in excellent original condition.  Overall, a presentable watch that is ready to wear in style or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreciates unique timepieces.  This watch measures 39.5mm diameter (without crown).  You can own this high grade, attractive, ready-to-wear vintage watch for $599.99/obo.  If you have questions about this watch or about my watch and clock repair services, please feel free to contact me.
