Offered for sale is a custom handmade fixed-blade hunting knife, made by Mike Wilson of Hayesville, North Carolina USA, probably ca. 2000-2010. This knife is based on a design by the legendary knifemaker Bob Loveless. Mike Wilson has been making knives full-time since 1992, and has become highly accomplished and well-regarded in the knife world. This knife features a D2 high-carbon high-chromium steel hollow-ground drop-point blade with a mirror polished finish, a brass single hilt, full tang construction, elk horn handle scales held to the tang with brass rivets, and a lanyard hole with a brass ferrule. Filework on the spine of the blade serves as thumb grooves to help improve grip. The blade is 4″ long and 1/8″ thick at the hilt. Overall length is 8-1/2″. The blade is tang stamped Wilson. The knife is in excellent, like-new condition overall. The blade appears to be unsharpened. The handle scales are in excellent condition. The fit and finish is superb. The knife includes a custom hand-tooled leather sheath made by Mike Wilson. This knife is very well made, and will provide many years of service with proper care.
