Description
Offered for sale is an vintage Elgin BW Raymond open-faced railroad pocket watch, made in USA circa 1940. This is a 16-size watch, and measures approximately 51mm (2″) diameter. This watch features a genuine Elgin 10k yellow gold filled screw back and bezel case, a 23-jewel Grade 540 stem-wind lever-set movement, and comes with a white single sunk porcelain dial with black Arabic numerals and blue steel spade hands. The case is in very good condition, showing signs of normal pocket carry with some light brassing on the back and on the bottom edge (see pictures). The bow is tight. The Montgomery dial is in excellent condition, showing one minor hairline near the 4 o’clock position (not noticeable unless you look closely). The movement runs and keeps excellent time. Overall, a very presentable watch that is ready to carry with pride. The 23-jewel B.W. Raymond pocket watches are far less common than the 21-jewel or 19-jewel models. You can own this very high grade, collectible, antique American-made pocket watch, for $599.99/obo.
