Offered for sale is a custom handmade fixed-blade hunting knife, made by Rusty Polk of Van Buren, Arkansas USA, probably ca. 2000s. Rusty Polk is a Journeyman Smith of the American Bladesmith Society, and in 2007, won the American Bladesmith Society award for the Journeyman Smith Knife of the Year. This knife features a carbon steel drop point blade, a stainless steel hilt, and a stag horn handle with lanyard hole (there is a small chip in the stag antler by the lanyard hole). The blade is 4-7/8″ long and approximately 3/16″ thick at the hilt. The blade is tang stamped “R POLK.” The other side of the blade is stamped with the Journeyman Smith mark. Overall length is 9-5/8″. The blade has a visible temper line where the cutting edge has been hardened to improve edge holding ability, while the rest of the blade has a more resilient temper to resist fracturing if bent. The knife is in excellent condition overall, showing signs of very light use and carry. The blade appears to be 100% intact. Included with the knife is a leather sheath (probably not original to the knife). This knife is very well made, and will provide many more years of service with proper care. Or, it would be right at home in a collection of custom fixed blade knives. You can own this very high quality custom American hunting knife for $499.99/obo.
