Description
Offered for sale is a Dick Atkinson custom fixed-blade hunting/utility knife, hand-made in Wausau, Florida, USA circa 1990s. Dick Atkinson sold his first knife in 1977 and has been making knives ever since. This knife is small enough for everyday carry yet tough enough for most outdoor and work tasks. Dick Atkinson is known to use A2, 440C, and 154CM steels, and I am not sure which one is used in this knife. This knife features a drop point blade with filework on the spine to help with grip, full tapered tang construction, and Micarta handle scales with a finger groove. The blade is 2-7/8″ long and 3/16″ thick at the hilt. Overall length is 6-5/8″. The blade is tang stamped “Atkinson Wausau, FL” lengthwise down the blade. The knife is in excellent, near-mint condition, showing signs of occasional handling. The blade appears to be 100% intact. The handle is in excellent condition, with no visible cracks or chips. The fit and finish is superb. The knife includes a high quality custom leather sheath. This knife is very well made, and will provide many years of service with proper care. Or, it would be right at home in a collection of custom knives. You can own this very high quality handmade knife from a very highly regarded maker, for $399.99.
